My trip to India was the most amazing experience of my life! I knew about the many hardships and poverty that the Indian people face, but experiencing it first-hand
really made me stop and think. In spite of all the obstacles they face, the MFD family continues to remain firm and strong in the Lord. Thanks to the people who faithfully support MFD, the
India staff is able to reach the deaf for Christ. I saw first-hand a variety of items that were purchased with your financial gifts to the ministry. A few of those items
included classroom chairs and sewing machines used by the tailoring class and building materials for the construction work. click for more |

After winning these events all three girls went on to participate in the 17th Annual National Games of the Deaf held in Balewadi, India where their conduct was a blessing to all who witnessed it, founder
Lillian Doerksen reported. "All were amazed when they saw our girls bow their heads before the race, asking God to help them do their best. This made a deep impression on them and we praised God for this witness of our
girls who are all from Hindu homes, but have come to know the Lord Jesus," Lillian said. click for more |

A new year brought a new YWAM team to MFD India. After hearing about the success of last year's group, the members of this years' team were worried they had big shoes to
fill. But God soon showed that He had His hand on their teachings as well. Ten people, all women, crammed themselves and their belongings into two bedrooms on the second floor of our staff quarters
and all of them shared only one bathroom! Yet for all they endured they never complained, and even considered it a privilege to be part of the work that God is doing through our staff in India. |

- We praise God for His touch of healing for Arvind who was down with fever and a bad cough.
- Praise the Lord for the loving response from many who sent donations which enabled us to buy Christmas gifts for all the students in Aurangabad and Pune. Nearly all are from poor, tribal families and all
appreciated the gifts.
- Praise the Lord for the loving supporters in San Dimas, California who provided us with the funds to buy the motor scooter that we desperately needed.
- Pray that God would provide house parents in Aurangabad since there is no one there to see to the water supply, electrical, garden and repairs.
- Please pray for our urgent need of a full-time accountant to assist Arvind in his many administrative responsibilities. His responsibilities are really too great for one man and our part-time accountant
is no longer able to help out.
- Please pray for the need to get the deaf Bible school going. Pray that God will guide us in working out the teaching staff, the books and teaching materials needed.
- Please pray that God will call a matron to be in charge of the tailoring class hostel. The girls cook and look after their own things very well, but there is a need for a supervisor to teach them new things, and
to lead the devotions and prayers.

- Preparations for a Christian hostel in Bombay for boys under 6 are now underway. Please pray for the family that has offered their home, care and services. Also, please consider what the Lord would have you give
towards this project. There is a huge need for financial support. Approximately 25 boys' parents have already inquired and indicated their desire to send their boys if we can start the project.
Praise the Lord for this open window of opportunity!
- We still need classroom and office chairs for our hostel in Aurangabad and our office in Pune. The classroom chairs are $9 each and the twelve office chairs needed are $7 each.
- We need five sewing machines for the tailoring class. These will cost us $50 per machine.
If you are interested in helping out financially, please go to our on-line donation form and we will be thrilled to hear from you! |
