Lisa Visits continued...

In addition, I was able to assist in meeting needs while I was there. The Lord provided funds so that we could purchase a computer modem that the ministry so desperately needed for a very reasonable price. And Arvind has informed me that the remainder will be used to buy a mobile phone so that they can contact Tony (the driver) when he is out on the road.

There still a need for classroom chairs for the Aurangabad Hostel, additional sewing machines for the tailoring class and computers for the computer training class.

Since I spent the majority of my time assisting Arvind at our mission headquarters in Pune, I did not have the opportunity of seeing every aspect of MFD's work in India.

However, I did get a good idea of how MFD India operates and enjoyed getting to know some of the girls. They are all such lovely young ladies that I could hardly believe that some of them are only teenagers! They are so unlike any teenagers that I have ever met; so thoughtful and appreciative. They rarely let me do anything for myself. I had to firmly insist just to be allowed to wash my clothes, which was a great  opportunity for me to experience all the trouble they go through just to have clean clothes!

Most of the girls were very affectionate, too. When the Aurangabad girls first arrived, I walked over to take pictures of them greeting the YWAM team members (more about the YWAM visit on page 3). They swarmed around me; all of them wanting to touch me and hug me. We hadn't even been introduced and already they had shown me their love! They especially loved feeling my skin and after careful inspection, they pronounced it good.

The older girls have the same sweet spirit.  They would often stop by the campus office to say hello or to bring me some tea. These girls are all wonderful and I would encourage anyone who has ever thought about sponsoring one of them to do so. I also encourage those who do sponsor to write to their girls and send them pictures or other tokens of affection often. Though most of the girls don't speak or read English, they still love to receive mail. Thank you to everyone who gave financially to make this trip possible. It has certainly given me a new perspective on MFD India.
