In addition, I was able to assist in meeting needs while I was there. The Lord provided funds so that we could purchase a computer modem that the ministry so desperately needed for a very reasonable price.
And Arvind has informed me that the remainder will be used to buy a mobile phone so that they can contact Tony (the driver) when he is out on the road. There still a need for classroom chairs for the Aurangabad
Hostel, additional sewing machines for the tailoring class and computers for the computer training class. Since I spent the majority of my time assisting Arvind at our mission headquarters in Pune, I did not
have the opportunity of seeing every aspect of MFD's work in India. However, I did get a good idea of how MFD India operates and enjoyed getting to know some of the girls. They are all such lovely young ladies that I
could hardly believe that some of them are only teenagers! They are so unlike any teenagers that I have ever met; so thoughtful and appreciative. They rarely let me do anything for myself. I had to firmly insist just to
be allowed to wash my clothes, which was a great opportunity for me to experience all the trouble they go through just to have clean clothes! |
