¨ Greetings to
all who uphold us in our ministry to India's deaf. I have been in Vancouver for just a few months and am keeping busy helping Len and others on the Canadian board consolidate our sponsorship information. Please
pray for me as I will spend most of my summer having knee encap surgery. I had my first surgery on June 2 and praise the Lord, all went well. Following the first surgery, the doctor said I may have to rehabilitate for
up to two months afterwards. Next, I will go in to have the same surgery done on my other knee. Pray that God will give me strength and the doctors wisdom as they perform the operation. Also, please pray that it will be
effective in repairing my other knee.
¨ Special prayer needed- For almost a month Arvind and Tara's son Jimmy has been running a fever. He went to at least two different doctors about it. One diagnosed Typhoid Fever
and put him on antibiotics. Oh, how we prayed! A few days later he was well enough to go school but since then the fever has returned. Please pray for the Lord's healing touch on little Jimmy's body. ¨ Deaf Camp- The
recent deaf camp went very well. The camp was held in Panchagani, a three-hour drive from the Pune Center. This year 13 boys from Aurangabad were able to join the Bombay boys along with some others. We had a total of 20
boys and girls attending the camp. The speaker, Rev. Tayade, brought a very simple and clear message that the deaf were able to latch on to. Twelve out of the 20 raised their hands in the air when asked, indicating that
they wanted to have clean hearts and new lives! Arvind says the camp was wonderful and that all had a great time. ¨ Tailoring classes start a new school year- The tailoring class started a new school year June 6. Praise
God the girls are refreshed and ready to get back to work.
¨ Prayer request- MFD still has two urgent positions that need to be filled as soon as possible. There is still a very big need for a full-time accountant to
assist Arvind in his job. Because of the lack of help with the accounting work, Arvind spends too much of his time away from his calling- sharing the Word with the deaf. Second, we still are in desperate need of a
matron for the girls hostel in Pune. The girls really need someone to help them look after themselves and to help them grow in their relationships with the Lord.
